Meanwhile, the enemies have closed the distance and she's getting hit and hurt and the reloading animation isn't ending fast enough to get a heal/potion/Gaun's Pledge/etc. Her only real source of damage seems to be the phantom summon.Īnd if I switch to The Disappointer (enchanted with Accurate 1), damage becomes notably better but I can't do anything aside from get one shot off and then wait an eon for the next shot. As a tank, she seems to be sticky (frequently seems to steal aggro off of Eder, even though I let him engage first) - but with that health and endurance doesn't seem to be able to stay alive long.Īs an aoe, "Come, Come Soft Winds of Death" only seems to be doing about 2 damage if I read the combat log correctly - which at level 4 just seems absolutely paltry and as a damage dealer, her attacks are soooo sloooow - even when equipped with a "fast" hatchet - that damage output is pathetic. I figure I must have built the character incorrectly. I feel like after 4 levels I should have seen some sort of improvement in my output but it just doesn't seem to be what I was expecting. So going with what the game was suggesting, I made this: I had read around the forums for a bit and saw chanters could dump Dex for practically no penalty. At this point I realize I'm probably doing something wrong. I was wrong, and the longer I play, the more apparent that is becoming. As a huge fan of support characters in general and bards in particular, I figured playing a chanter would fit that bill for me closely enough that I wouldn't notice a difference. Activating the Brisk Recitation Modal will regulate you to casting primarily Chanter Invocations due to the speed at which you'll Chant Phrases.Preface: I'm still pretty new to this game.Troubadours can effectively Multiclass with just about any other Class because their Chants have a longer Linger Duration, which can benefit nearly everyone.Chanters can reduce their Recovery Time and increase their Reload Speed with Firearms and other Weapons that need reloading, so it is recommended they use one.See Builds for ideas on how to create strong characters. All Invocations have an increased cast cost of +1 Phrase (Chant).Gain " Brisk Recitation" modal ability that increases the rate that phrases elapse, but removes the linger. Linger for Phrases is increased significantly (this means that as one phrase ends and another starts, they overlap for a little while giving both effects).Troubadours originated in Old Vailia, but are common in the Vailian Republics and many other lands." More passive than many chanters, troubadours relish their support role in the midst of their comrades. "Troubadours are masters of the chant, able to adjust the speed of their chanting and the linger of their phrases to suit the needs of battle. The name of the resulting mix will be the same as it would have been for the primary class, regardless of the subclass you have taken. Subclasses are a specialization of a main Class, and can be mixed for Multiclassing. Troubadour is a Subclass of Chanter in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire.
